A Morris County Homeless Trust Fund (HTF) is made possible by enabling legislation at the state level in New Jersey. It would be funded by fees paid on legal documents provided by the County Clerk. It would not be funded by County taxes.
This flexible fund will help house all persons in our community by:
-
Preventing homelessness by providing services to ensure at-risk households remain stably housed, like rental assistance or tenant-landlord mediation;
-
Increasing the availability of emergency housing and affordable housing to ensure that all persons have access to housing;
-
Supporting programs that help homeless or at-risk persons obtain and maintain permanent housing.
